Understanding More and Less
Comparing numbers helps us understand which group has more or fewer items.
Today we'll learn to look at two groups of objects (up to 5) and tell which one has more, which has less, or if they're equal!
How to Compare Numbers
1️⃣ Count the items in each group
2️⃣ Compare the two numbers
3️⃣ Say which is more or if they're equal
Let's Practice Together!
Example 1: Fruit Comparison

?

5 bananas
Example 2: Animal Counting
Count the animals in each box and compare them!

Dogs: 0 | Cats: 0
Parent Tips 🌟
- Use everyday objects: Compare snacks ("Do you have more grapes or crackers?"), toys, or shoes to make learning natural.
- Make it physical: Have your child line up items side by side to see which row is longer (has more).
- Celebrate mistakes: If they get it wrong, say "Good try! Let's count together to check."
